“I’m tired of putting up with the drag of everyone in my life and on the internet,” she wrote.

“I just wanted to make music, make people happy, and help the world become a little better than I found it. But I started to feel like the world didn’t want me to be a part of it.

“I constantly encounter lies about my influence and opinions… Because of my appearance, I am the butt of jokes at every turn. My character is denigrated by people who don’t know me and disrespect my name.

The Grammy-winning pop singer’s reputation was severely damaged last August when she was sued by three former members of her dance troupe.

Dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noel Rodriguez accused Lizzo and her production company of assault, racial and religious harassment, fat-shaming, ableism and false imprisonment.

Days later, Lizzo denied the claims, calling them “false” and “sensational.” “I’m hurting, but I won’t let this overshadow the good I’ve done in the world. I want to thank everyone who has reached out to support me during this difficult time,” she said.

Then, in September, fashion designer Asha Daniels filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Lizzo of allowing bullying, harassment and racial discrimination behind the scenes of her tour.

In December, Lizzo’s attorneys filed to dismiss Daniels’ lawsuit, calling it “flawed” because the allegations had no connection to California, where the lawsuit was filed. According to the documents, Daniels lives in New York and toured Europe with Lizzo.

An attorney for Daniels said Lizzo’s team is trying to “place blame on the victim… Lizzo and her attorneys can continue to work to rationalize her illegal and egregious conduct, but we remain committed to seeking justice for our client.” , and look forward to the day when we appear in court where Lizzo can explain her actions in a public forum.”

The accusations run counter to Lizzo’s public persona. As a performer, she is known for her advocacy for body positivity, women’s rights, LGBT+ rights and anti-bullying. Throughout her career, she has built a globally successful brand of body positivity and self-love, backed by a discography of empowering songs.
