How to Get Tor’gal and Clive’s Armor

final fantasy 14The latest crossover event has begun, and it’s none other than last year’s action RPG final fantasy 16.That’s right, everyone’s favorite sad boy Clive Rosfield is jumping ship to an MMO, ironically led by final fantasy 16Producer of Naoki Yoshida.Clive is a little lost, or at least a little confused, when you find him, as to how he ended up in Eorzea, and his brief journey there culminates in a climactic battle familiar to both sides FF14 and FF16 player.

As a reward for completing the short and sweet crossover questline, which runs from now to May 8, 7:59 AM PDT, FF14 Players can unlock Clive’s signature outfit (complete with nipple windows) as well as the mount of his canine companion Torgal and the minions of Torgal as a pup.

Missing: Handsome guy with big breasts

To begin the cross-quest line, players must first reach level 50 and complete the quest “The Ultimate Weapon.” Essentially, you have to defeat all realm of rebirth Before you start.

Once you’ve completed this, or most likely you’ve passed that point, head to Urda to begin the questline. Begin by teleporting to the etheric body in the Nard Steps, then head outside. You’ll look for a quest giver on the steps to the right, more or less on the way to the Boxing Guild, he’s called “The Novice Adventurer” and he’ll do a quest called “Land on Fire”. Get this from them and you’re good to go.

Interact with them and start talking about their dreams. Continue with the dialogue selections (select Burning Wall just to speed things up) and teleport to Dry Bones Camp to get the quickest route there. Follow the objective marker east of Dry Bones Camp and you’ll find a wandering bard you can interact with. Talking to the bard will produce an interaction point for the player to “investigate” the area and look for anything “anomalous”. Once you’re in first-person and looking through the telescope, you’ll want to look at a rock platform in the water directly below you, with a small bridge above it. On the side closest to you, next to/below the orange bulb, you’ll find a “strange man”. We’ve found the missing man: Clive Rosefield. I think you’re on the wrong track, man.

Talk to him and you’ll eventually be taken back to Thanalan. Keep following the objectives and you will complete your first mission! Pretty simple, eh?

Luckily for us, this is a Clive-centric questline, so as long as you don’t ignore this beautiful man, you’ll always be on the right track. Talk to him again to accept the next quest, “Memory Trail,” and get ready for some typical MMO back-and-forth gameplay. You’ll eventually hop on an airship and head to Gridania (much to the complete confusion of the man), and when you land there he’ll start following you around like a lost puppy. Follow your map to these glowing circles around Gridania, and keep talking to Clive while you’re in them. All the places you need to reach are in nearby areas, so don’t go into other areas! I repeat, do not load into other areas. Otherwise you will have to return to the airship landing and find Clive again.

Continue talking to Clive in each glowing circle and he will eventually overhear a conversation about Garuda, which makes him uneasy. Afterwards talk to the Snake Scout and head to your new destination (still in the nearby area, so just walk/run there), trigger some more dialogue, and boom, the mission is over. Now let’s get to the good stuff.

Come to me, Ifrit!

Pick up the “Road to Hell” mission to activate the last mission in the linkage. I know, and I’m sad it’s over so soon, too. Watch the cutscene that plays out before you and Clive are transported to some kind of dreamland, where you’ll come face to face with… Ifrit!Ifrit is not only the first primitive creature you kill FF14but they are also icons of Clive, who needs power and can transform into, in FF16. We’re really back to square one.

Ifrit will transform into their FF16 Iterate (very cool, IMO) and start fighting. For this particular battle, though, players will have two additional actions, and a countdown mechanic has been implemented.First, players will be able to use Clive’s FF16 Uppercut, rising flames, rushing towards Ifrit and causing huge damage. It’s cooling down, so I recommend using it when it’s available again. The second action is dodge, which is coordinated with the battle countdown. During certain attacks, players will see a countdown like a dice appear in the center of the screen.Once it reaches zero, the dodge icon will pop up Using dodge at that moment will result in a successful dodge. The evasive move will then turn into a precision strike parry. I encourage you to mash the same button while using dodge, as Precision Strike will also close the gap between you and Ifrit.

After causing a certain amount of damage, Ifrit will restrain Clive, temporarily removing him from the battle. A defensive sword will appear along the energy line connecting Ifrit and Clive, and you will need to interact with it to initiate a simple button press QTE. Once completed, Clive will return to the fight again. Ifrit will eventually summon a sword from the sky, which must be damaged before its meter fills up, but you’ll do very little damage at first. Wait for Clive to launch his own attack, leaving the swords vulnerable, then destroy them. In addition to this, you should press the button one more time before Ifrit falls, at which point Clive will perform a special show for you.

Otherwise, the battle of Ifrit would be simple. FF14 meet. Avoid the aura on the floor that indicates Ifrit will attack, and use dodge when prompted to avoid damage. Remember to use rising flames to maximize your damage, and this should be done and dusted immediately.

Return to Valistia

When you emerge from battle, you’ll have a new companion: Tor’gall! Eventually you’ll be told to return to where you found Clive in the Burning Wall, so head there and you’ll be prompted to follow Tor’gal, who is trying to guide Clive home. According to the mission requirements, you should be at least level 50, so just go around the mobs on the way and don’t draw aggro to avoid losing track of Tolgar, otherwise you will have to reset. Once you return to where you first found Clive, he and Torgar will return home. Talking to the quest giver at the end will end this questline and you will receive a Métian Garment Safe, a Torghar Mount Whistle, and a Torghar Puppy Servant. Using all of these in your inventory will unlock them for use, and then you’re done!

what do you think FF14/16 cross?I personally appreciate Square’s efforts to achieve canonization. CliveAppears in Eorzea, explains and Do part that actually fits FF16,Surprisingly.But I guess I shouldn’t be so surprised; it certainly isn’t most Confusing crossover FF14History. I would love to do another movie with some minor actors.maybe a meeting FF14 West Germany and FF16 west germany? A boy can only dream.
