4 county electric power associations expand internet services

Northeast Mississippi (WCBI) – From lighting up homes to connecting communities online, the 4-County Electric Association is now powering West Point with FastNet Internet service.

This marks a shift for 4-County as it moves beyond electricity to improve internet access throughout the region.

4-County has been known for lighting up homes across the South for decades, and now it’s beaming the light through fiber optic cables to provide fast internet service to our members.

“So, if you go back to 2019 when the Legislature changed the law, we couldn’t do it before that. After that, we started looking at what the impact would be if we brought fiber to our district. Look, we in 4-County The mission is to improve quality for all the people we touch. If we’re going to help our communities, and many of our communities have sub-par internet, that’s where we turn right from. If we do that, for us What would it look like? What manpower would we need? Can we get funding? Can we put together a team and be successful? Most importantly, we put in a lot of prayer. The Lord closed doors in His path, and again The window opened up. We made it work. It turned out to be the right thing to do. People are happy. It’s great. It’s a win-win for everyone,” said 4-County CEO Brian Clark.

4 counties expected to bring internet service to thousands of people at West Point. We’ll keep you updated when it launches on the grid.
