‘I’m back’ – Internet fooled by fake Gunnar Gundy tweet vowing to return to OSU for pole vaulter Sarah Stair

Before he becomes a real man, certainly before he turns 40 (IYKYK…explained later), former Oklahoma State quarterback Gunnar Gundy hopes to find true love with redshirt senior Sarah Stair.

Well, kind of… this is actually a fake account (this is Gunnar’s true identity), but he did fool the rest of the internet. But I hope it’s true, it would be the best way ever to tell the world that you will be riding the pines for your dad again.

A Twitter/X user named “@OkStProbs” who describes himself as “loving hot girls” posted a photo of Stair promoting her as Stillwater’s newest star.

If by “new” you mean “three years in school,” then yes, considering Stair transferred to OSU, can I say that about another school, a growing school in Columbus, Ohio? — about three or four years ago, in 2021, according to her official athletic profile.

Regardless, the fake Gunnar must have felt like the real-life Peter Gibbons, because despite his reputation in the athletic department, he didn’t get Sarah Steele to waltz around campus and play at the Cowgirl Games Road serves as pole vaulter’s memo and field team.

Unfortunately for Gundy, after playing very few games at Oklahoma State, he sought greener pastures on the court and transferred to Ohio University. I know the transfer portal is free right now, but before I started researching this article, I was almost certain Gundy wouldn’t be able to double back to Stillwater even if he wanted to.

Welp. It turned out that Gandy had booked a flight from Athens, Ohio, and re-entered the portal weeks later.

This brings us to the previously promised IYKYK explanation. I’m sure Gunnar’s father could have pulled some strings on True Love’s behalf, even though there were some rules against leaving school, only to transfer back after only a few weeks or months.

Mike Gundy is the head football coach of the Cowboys, with an annual salary of $7.5 million, and has considerable influence on Oklahoma-related sports affairs. Gunner followed in his father’s footsteps and played quarterback for the school, but spent most of his time riding the pines. Hopefully their relationship is still good. I don’t even pretend to know.

The elder Gundy is best known for his legendary: “I’m a man! I’m 40 years old!” he spoke from the podium as he defended a former quarterback. As a result, lede may seem obscure.

For what it’s worth, quarterback Gundy’s defender Bobby Reed believes the rant was completely fake. Gandy performs to make himself look good. Reed speculated that Gundy himself leaked some inside information about the story that attacked him. Wonder what Reed is doing these days. He was eventually replaced by Zac Robinson, who happened to be the team’s new offensive coordinator. Atlanta Falcons led by Kirk Cousins.

Oh my gosh, we are so far away from where this article started. I just don’t think I should be doing straight news, no-nonsense coverage of Oklahoma State University like my former employer’s “smoke show of the day” or whatever the format/jargon is. Not because I’m too proud. Frankly speaking, my inner sensibility is dead and I am not suitable for doing such a thing.

As someone who moved no less than 10 times during my childhood and eight more times after graduating from undergrad, it takes a lot of effort to uproot your family, pack up everything, and move to a mostly unknown destination. The older I get, the less attractive it sounds.

If there is no forward-looking transfer portal Suitors will be evaluating Gunner’s football prospects, and maybe Sarah Style can take a look at his highlight reel to see if he’s worthy of a first date. Who knows what happens from there?
